Funeral service for Cecil Oddrof Parris will be 1 p.m., Fri., April 1, at the Claremore Assembly of God with Rev. Dave Mewbourne officiating. Burial will follow at Oglesby Cemetery under the direction of Musgrove-Merriott-Smith Funeral Service & Crematory. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Thurs. 1-8 p.m., and family will greet friends 6-8 p.m.
Oddrof died Sun., March 27, 2011, at her home at the age of 96.
The daughter of John Henry and Mary Jane (Reed) Herrelson was born Sept. 10, 1914, in Nowata. She attended Adair District School in rural Nowata; and in 1931, graduated from Nowata High School. On Oct. 15, 1932, Oddrof married Rev. Meyrel Lester Parris in Nowata. They moved from Vinita to Claremore in 1956. Oddrof was a homemaker, and also, helped her husband in his pastoral care duties.
Oddrof was preceded in death by her husband in 1993; her parents; brother, Ora Wesley Herrelson; and sister, Mildred May Weaver.
She is survived by her son, Glenn Ray Parris of Claremore; daughters: E. Jane Stone and husband, Robert of Wichita, KS, and Ruth Merlene Cloud and husband, Tony of Claremore; 6 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren.
