Chuck died Thurs., Feb. 9, 2012, at St. Francis Hospital, Tulsa, at the age of 65.
The son of Glen Elmo and Irene (Yates) Perry was born March 26, 1946, in Claremore. Soon after high school he moved to Bakersfield, California to begin working. A few years later he came back to Oklahoma. There he met Joyce Lee Dudley. They were married July 10, 1982 in Claremore. Chuck worked as a heavy equipment operator and truck driver at Chandler Material, Sweetwater, and Hickory Coal companies for many years. He then worked 15 years for Verdigris Valley Sod Farm. Chuck loved fishing and camping; and was known as "Papa Chuck" by many. He never met anyone that he didn't give a nickname. He always had a story to tell; and if he thought that the kids needed eyebrows or glasses he was always happy to draw them on.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Glen and Irene Perry; sister, Billie Kay Modesto; and nephews: David and Rick Johnson, and Keith Cordrey.
Chuck is survived by his wife, Joyce of the home; children: Charles Perry, Jr. and wife, Judy of Claremore, and Julie Chisholm of Kansas; step-children: LaDonna Boen and husband, Robert of Verdigris, Evert "Jr." Bolen and wife, Roxie of Topeka, KS, Samuel Bolen of North Carolina, Sherry White of Claremore, and Ronnie White of Claremore; brother, Glen Perry, Jr. of Claremore; sisters: Patricia Kitchen of Chelsea, and Maybelle Johnson of Foyil; 19 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
