Funeral service for Cheryl Lynn Jones-Royer will be 1 p.m., Thursday, April 22, at First Baptist Church, Inola, with Rev. Blake Gideon officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery under the direction of the Inola Funeral Home & Crematory.
Cheryl died Thurs., April 15, 2010, at Barnes Jewish Hospital, St. Louis, MO, at the age of 37.
The daughter of William C. and Betty Joyce (Keeney) Jones was born Sept. 27, 1972, in Clarksdale, MS. Cheryl grew up in Arkansas before moving to Inola in 1976. The familly moved to Verdigris for a short while, before moving back to Inola in 1980. She enjoyed playing basketball, track, and soccer. Cheryl was a member of the FCA and graduated from Inola High School in 1991. She continued her educated at Platt College, Tulsa, earning her LPN degree. She worked with Dr. Sutton's office, hospice, and local nursing homes. Cheryl enjoyed fishing when she was younger, sports, and dancing.
Cheryl is preceded in death by her grandparents: Louise Keeney, Lois Jones, and Lewis Jones.
She is survived by her children: Ashley Jones of Inola, Laken Clark of Inola, Alexandria Royer of Collinsville, Shelby Royer of Collinsville, and Colton Stevens of Tulsa; parents, William and Betty Jones of Inola; sister, Cindy Rash and husband, Brian of Inola; nieces and nephew: Kylie Rue, Tuff Rash, and Shaylie Rash; grandfather, Silas Keeney of Wahpeton, ND; and companion, John Stevens.
