Christina Denise Ramsey

Funeral Service for Christy Ramsey will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 21, 2011 at the Chelsea High School Gymnasium. Pastor Eddy Mathews will officiate. Burial will follow at the Chelsea Cemetery under the direction of the Chelsea Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Thurs. 1-8 p.m., and family will greet friends 6-8 p.m.

Christy passed away Friday, October 14, 2011 at the age of 34.

The daughter of Jerry and Pat Corle Morrison was born January 23, 1977 in Nowata, Oklahoma. As a young girl she was raised in the Chelsea community. She attended Chelsea public schools graduating with the class of 1995. During school she was active in many activities. She served as a cheerleader, played basketball, and excelled as a softball player, for a short time she was even the schools dragon mascot. After graduation she worked at her family's diner while she attended college. December 27, 1996 two days after Christmas she married Donnie Ramsey her high school sweetheart. The next few years she and Donnie lived in California, where he was stationed in the Air Force. In July of 2000 they were able to move back home to Chelsea. Christy again began working in her community, helping her parents and working with special ed students at Chelsea schools. However the majority of her time was spent taking care of her children Alex and Josie, and her niece and nephew Chloe and Colbe. In her spare time you could always find her with friends, helping her children with 4H or working on some sort of arts and crafts project.

She is preceded in death by her grandmother Mona Morrison, grandfather George Morrison, grandfather Leonard Corle and grandmother Lavonda Ramsey.

Survivors include her husband Donnie and son Alex of the home; parents, Jerry and Pat Morrison of Chelsea; siblings, Tammy and Darren Ellis, Todd and Debbie Morrison, Duane and Debbie Morrison, Jayme Morrison and Tina Jo Mitchell all of Chelsea; maternal grandmother, Lorraine Corle of Chelsea; father and mother-in-law, Don and Linda Ramsey of Chelsea, brother-in-laws, Johnny and Cheri Ramsey of Virginia, Neil and Dee Ramsey, sister-in-laws, Kristy and Tim Ross of Chelsea, Mendy and David Weilert Claremore, and Quannah and Darrel of Adair, and numerous other nieces, nephews, and cousins.
