Funeral service for Clyde David Cross will be 2 p.m., Wed., June 30, at the Musgrove-Merriott-Smith Chapel with Rev. Steve Hanchett officiating. Burial with military honors by the U.S. Army will follow at Oakhaven Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Tues. 1-8 p.m., and family will greet friends 6-8 p.m.
Clyde died Sun., June 27, 2010, at Claremore Regional Hospital at the age of 86.
The son of Clyde and Lora (Miller) Cross was born Dec. 20, 1923, in McLeansboro, IL. Clyde served in the U.S. Army during WWII, and after discharge moved to Tulsa. He went to work as a carpenter, and in 1966 went to work with International Harvester where he retired. In 1969, he married Marie Baldridge. Clyde enjoyed fishing, golfing, and woodworking. He was a member of Faith Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Ella Mae Hatchell Manago; and great-granddaughter, Chris Esquville.
Clyde is survived by his wife, Marie of the home; son, Clyde David Cross and wife, Cindy of Broken Arrow; daughters: Donna Roberts and husband, Ron of Tulsa, and Lora Phillips and husband, Greg of Broken Arrow; step-daughter, Dian Breshears and husband, Doyle of Claremore; sister, LaVerne Webb of Phoenix, AZ; grandchildren: Jennifer, Lucas, Joey, Charlotte, Cole, and Cathey; 13 grandchildren, and 10 great-great-granchildren.
