Clyde Rice was born April 10, 1933 at Bushyhead, OK, the son of Thomas E. Rice and Ethel E. Brown. Clyde, 79, passed away October 21, 2012 at Tulsa, OK. He entered the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Clyde was an oil field worker and truck driver and worked on many interesting jobs during his life, one of which was helping dredge the Port of Catoosa. He enjoyed the outdoors--fishing, camping and growing vegetables that he shared with friends and family.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Sharon; his parents; brothers: Leroy, Bill, and Ted Rice; and sister, Sylvia Phinney.
Clyde is survived by his sons: Larry Rice, and Garry Rice (Patti) all of Chelsea; daughter, Donna Costello (Richard) of Edmond; sister, Jean Ellis (Jack) of Bernice; 13 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Clyde will always be remembered for his generosity and loving spirit.
Services for Clyde Rice will be 11 am Friday, October 26, at the Musgrove-Merriott-Smith Chapel with Rev. Michael Clark officiating. Burial will follow at Chelsea Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Thursday, 1-8 pm. Family hours from 5-7pm.
