Connie Jean Minnick was born January 13, 1950 in Gallup, New Mexico to Don William and Virginia Nell (Adams) McKnight. She attended Will Rogers High School in Tulsa, graduating with the class of 1968. During her senior year she took first place at the state competition for hair styling. Following her graduation she immediately went into the field of cosmetology. She worked under a fantastic mentor, Auldon Twist, for several years learning the business, before branching out on her own. There was no stopping Connie, she has had an established salon in Claremore for 40 years. Over this span of time, Connie not only touched thousands heads of hair, she also touched thousands of hearts. Everyone knew her and she could not go anywhere without seeing someone she knew. She was the brightest spirit around, now she is the brightest star. Connie loved greatly and only wanted everyone around her to be happy. Her customers were like family to her, and like family they shared many activities and time together.
Connie's passing leaves a void in the hearts of many. She is preceded in death by her grandparents; her father Don McKnight and her husband Rick.
