Connie Whisler

Memorial Service for Constance Lucille "Connie" Whisler will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday, November 19, 2010, at the Musgrove-Merriott-Smith Chapel with Reverend Pat Felter officiating.

Mrs. Whisler passed away November 16, 2010, at Wood Manor at the age of 92.

The daughter of Robert and Lottie Davis Buckner was born June 8, 1918, in Reed, OK. She attended Reed High School where she was a member of the graduating class of 1936. She married Edward Everett Whisler on June 21, 1941, in Pampa, TX. In 1951 she and her family moved to Chelsea. She was a member of the Chelsea First Baptist Church. She worked at Eastern State Hospital in the laundry department, retiring in 1980. Her hobbies included flower gardening, raising vegetables, and her animals. Love for her family was the most important thing in her life. She loved helping others and was especially happy when surrounded by nature and animals.

She is preceded in death by her parents Robert and Lottie, husband Edward, daughter Claudia Jane, twin brothers Sherman and Herman, and sister Madora.

Survivors include her son, Ed Whisler and wife Sherry of Claremore; grandson, Shane Whisler, wife Pat Felter, and great-granddaughters Mattie and Molly Whisler of Dallas, TX.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mustard Seed Learning Center at 115 E. 5th Street, Claremore.
