Funeral service for Curtis L. Kenoly will be 11 a.m., Wed., May 5, at Mt. Zion Baptist Church with Rev. Bailey officiating. Burial with military honors by the U.S. Air Force will follow at Oakhaven Memorial Gardens under the direction of Musgrove-Merriott-Smith Funeral Service & Crematory. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Tues. 1-8 p.m.
Curtis died Thurs., May 1, 2010, at St. John’s Medical Center, Tulsa, at the age of 75.
The son of Joshua W. and Mary (McKinney) Kenoly was born May 12, 1934, in Wagoner. The family moved to Coffeyville, KS, and Curtis graduated from Coffeyville High School. Curtis then joined the U.S. Air Force. He served in many places including: Kocamo, IN, Peru, Japan, Spain, Rosewell, Myrtle Beach, and Miami, FL. Curtis worked in aircraft maintenance and retired in 1978. In Aug. of 1981 the family moved to Claremore from Florida. Curtis became business partners with Tom O’Dell. Curtis met his future wife, Joyce G. Temple, on a bus ride, and they were married on March 2, 1957, in Cape Giraldeau, MO. Joyce began her own business, J.K.A., in 1983, in which Curtis helped her. Curtis was very active in his church, Mt. Zion Baptist Church. He had served as Chairman of the Deacon Board, taught Sunday School on occasions, sang in the Men’s Choir, and served as an usher. Curtis enjoyed the computer, and was a member of the Disabled American Veteran’s.
He is preceded in death by his parents, and 9 siblings.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce of the home; children: Connie Morris of Claremore, Anthony Kenoly of Claremore, Diana Kenoly of Claremore, and David Kenoly and wife, Bonnie of Dallas; 11 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
