Funeral service for Daisy W. Ward will be 2:00p.m., Tuesday, March 12, 2024, at Friendly Foyil Baptist Church. Friends may visit at the funeral home on Monday, March 11, 2024, from 1pm -8pm, with family receiving visitors from 6pm-8pm. Daisy passed away on Friday, March 8, 2024, at the age of 80.
Daisy W. Ward was born on July 18, 1943, Claremore, Oklahoma to Charles L. and Velma (Green) Keys. She spent her formative years attending Washington School and later completed her education at Foyil.
In August 1960, Daisy married the love of her life, Frank Eugene Ward. Together, they began their journey in Tulsa before eventually settling in Claremore and then making a home in the Foyil area. Daisy's career at Foyil Schools spanned an impressive 30 years where she held various roles including working in the kitchen, being part of the cleaning crew, and serving as a teacher's aide. Her dedication earned her numerous friends among both colleagues and students who adored her cheerful presence.
Aside from her professional commitments, Daisy found joy in simple pleasures such as tending to her yard with meticulous care. Known for keeping her fence rows immaculate, she also showcased her artistry as a talented seamstress renowned for creating exquisite draperies. Her willingness to lend a helping hand endeared her to many as she readily helped with any project big or small.
Daisy's love for basketball was evident as she faithfully followed the teams year after year, showcasing her unwavering support for the sport she cherished.
Daisy leaves behind a legacy cherished by many. She is survived by her children Terry Ward and wife Karen Michele, Sherry Ward, Todd Ward and wife Rhianna, grandchildren Ezekiel Ward, Joshua Ward, Lydia Ward, Hannah Ward, Dallas Ward; sister Dodie Mayes; sisters-in-law Melva Ward and Juanita Keys along with numerous other relatives and friends. Daisy was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Velma Keys, her husband Frank Ward, and her siblings Jean Lively, Fanny Keys, and Sam Keys.
Although Daisy may no longer be physically present among us after her passing, her memory will forever remain in the hearts of those fortunate enough to have known such a remarkable individual.
