Danny James Gilmore

Service for Danny James Gilmore will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at Inola First Baptist Church; burial will follow at Highland Cemetery. Friends may visit at the funeral home on Tuesday, January 2 from 1-6 pm, with family receiving visitors from 5-6 pm. Danny passed away on Friday, December 29, 2017. He was 64.

Born on May 13, 1953 in Muskogee, Oklahoma to John and Geneva (Stacy) Gilmore, Danny attended schools in Inola, graduating with the class of 1971. Following his education, he worked for his father-in-law for a while in the construction business and sold cars for a short period, later he began a 35 year career with American Airlines. In 1972, Danny married Jan Cameron and together they raised their family in Inola.

Danny's hobbies included quail hunting and fishing. He also loved a good game of golf, and enjoyed collecting coins. His priority was his family, and he spent as much time as he could with them. His grandchildren were most special to him.

Those family members that survive include his wife Jan of their home; his son Troy Gilmore and wife Amy also of Inola; his grandchildren Ty Gilmore and wife Rachel of Shawnee, and Halley Gilmore of Inola; his mother Geneva Gilmore; his sisters Johnna Robinson also of Inola, and Penny Brabham and husband Ted of Texas. Danny was preceded in death by his father John and his daughter Joy Gilmore Baldwin.
