Funeral service for Danny Rhine will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 26, at Calvary Freewill Baptist Church with Pastor Tom Schulze officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery under the direction of the Musgrove-Merriott-Smith Funeral Service & Crematory. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Monday 1-8 p.m., and family will greet friends 6-8 p.m..
Danny passed away Thursday, June 21, 2012, at his home in Claremore at the age of 65.
The son of Verl J. and Bertie "Izzie" Paris Rhine was born September 7, 1946, in Oklahoma City. As a young boy he and his family moved to the Sequoyah area. There he later graduated from Sequoyah High School. He then continued his education at Oklahoma Military Academy. After a stint in the U.S. Airforce, Danny returned to the Claremore area. He worked a while in the oil industry before entering the restaurant business. It was while he was working that he met Pamela Jones. They were married March 23, 1998 in Miami.
Danny loved the outdoors. Every summer he and the kids went camping nearly every weekend, and softball games were always played. Fishing and hunting was also one of his favorite pastimes. A few of his other enjoyments were gardening, watching Monday night football, and the OU Sooners. However most of all he enjoyed being with his family.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Verl and Izzie Rhine, brother, Larry Murray; and sister, Angie Murray.
Survivors include his wife, Pamela of the home; daughters: Lisa Rhine McCurdy and husband, Eric McCurdy of Claremore, and Wendi Rhine Morris and Terry Ragsdale of Tulsa; step-children: Erica Myrick and husband, Mike Hood of Galena, Kansas, Amber Parrish and William Landrum of Sand Springs, and Chad Parrish and wife, Tiffany Parrish of Sand Springs; grandchildren: Tyler McCurdy and fiancé, Ashley Warren, Sarah McCurdy, Jacquelyn Myrick, Tommy Baker, Levi Baker, Emily Parrish, and Allie Parrish; brothers: Howard Murray, Chuck Murray, Kirby Murray and William Murray; sisters: Esther Murray and Mava Penny O'Neil; father and mother-in-law, Tom and Ruby Jones; sister and brother-in-law, Vicki and Paul Preas; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
