David Travis "Pete" Andrews

June 1, 1939 — March 29, 2020

Travis passed away on March 29, 2020, surrounded by his family and friends at the age of 80.

The son of Henard Allen Andrews and Orgie Romines Andrews was born June 1, 1939 in Claremore, Oklahoma. As a young boy he was raised in the Foyil area and graduated from Foyil High School in 1957. Travis was raised in a community where he participated in his schools student fire brigade and often volunteered at local cemeteries helping prepare sites for burials. In the early part of 1960 he met Glenda Marlin Andrews. They would marry on September 22, 1961. The newlywed couple would make their home in Claremore for a short time until moving to their current home place just a few miles north of town.
Over the next several years Travis worked at Hesston Corporation, Jarbo Distributors, Sun Glass Corporation. and even helped build the Oologah lake. Travis eventually went to work at American Airlines as a machinist where he retired after working there12 years.

In his spare time Travis loved gardening and raising cattle.

Travis was preceded in death by his parents, Henard and Orgie Andrews; his wife Glenda Francis Andrews; a brother Charles Andrews and sister Becky and her husband Buck Rose.

Travis is survived by his children Dayna Weast and her husband John, Debbie Shockley and her husband Brad, David Andrews and his wife Shellie, and Darren Andrews and his wife Brandi all of Claremore; grandchildren Johnny Weast and his wife Felicia, Johnna Weast, Tisha, Justin and Loren Shockley, Tyson and Micheala, Trevor Andrews, Shelbie Andrews, Ashley Burdridge and her husband Nick and Ava Andrews; great-grandchildren. Skylar, Joshua, Emmie, Dayvee, Braidey, Hunter, and Kally.
