David LeRoy Belt, 79, passed away March 22, 2023, in Claremore, Ok. He was born July 4, 1943, to Onis D Belt and Mildred Doris Earp Belt in Seaside, Ca. He lived in many different cities in California during his youth, never getting to stay a whole year in one school. He followed his brother to Oklahoma when he was 18 years old and never looked back.
He is preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Doris; four brother, Onis, Charles, Richard, and Melvin.
He was a machinist at McDonald Douglas/Boeing for 24 years. Upon the closer of the McDonald Douglas plant in Tulsa he went to work for Nordam and was a machinist there till retirement.
He loved drag racing and was a member of the North Side Racers. He also enjoyed building and restoring old cars. He built a Ford Cobra kit car from the ground up and totally restored a 1958 Chevy Corvette back to original condition. He also enjoyed deer hunting in Kentucky with his good friend Butch, anything outdoors, and sharing everything and anything with his grandkids. He was truly a jack of all trades and the master of all.
Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Connie Belt of the home; one brother, James Belt of Sperry, sister Norma Gleason of Grove, Ok, sister Marilyn Evans of Fort Smith, Ark, daughters Dava Hardie of Sperry, Ok, Treva Belt of Sperry, Ok, step sons Brad Leamy of Broken Arrow, Ok, Brett Leamy and wife Amber Leamy of Verdigris, Ok; nine grandkids, Cameron Hausner and wife Krissy Hausner of Sperry, Ok, Ali Hausner of Tulsa, Ok, Jamie Nichols of Sperry, Ok, Tyler Nichols of Sperry, Ok, Gunner Ham of Sperry, Ok, Aiden Leamy of Claremore, Ok, Bryce Leamy of Verdigris, Ok, Caleb Leamy of Verdigris, Ok, Brock Leamy of Tulsa, Ok, two great grandchild, and numerous nieces and nephew and to many awesome friends to count. He was loved by all.
