David Erwin passed away on September 1st, 2024, at the age of 73.
He was born on June 27th , 1951 in Roswell, New Mexico. David studied at OBU and went on to receive his Master's Degree at the University of Tulsa.
David was passionate about sports. He especially loved OU football and OU softball. He watched and supported his children and grandchildren in the many sports they played. David loved to watch western movies and anything that had to do with history.
David, a wonderful husband, married the love of his life, Rebekah Erwin. He loved traveling with Rebekah, especially to Branson, Missouri. They spent a lot of time watching shows such as westerns, hallmark, and Fox News. David was an amazing father to his four children: Alicia, Jeremy, Isaac, and Aaron. He was always loving but stern when direction and discipline was needed.
David was dedicated and was sold out for Jesus Christ. He was a pastor for over 40 years. From officiating numerous weddings and funerals to counseling numerous people, David loved serving the Lord. More importantly than anything, David lead many people to Christ. He was a true soul winner. He knew all was for the glory of God.
David was preceded in death by his father, Louis Erwin; mother, Wanda Erwin; brother, Louis Erwin; sister, Linda Johnson and her husband Allan Johnson.
David is survived by his wife, Rebekah Erwin; daughter, Alicia Erwin-Deck; son, Jeremy Erwin; son, Isaac Erwin; son, Aaron Erwin; sister, Francis Clinkenbeard; and many grandchildren, 1 great granddaughter, and many nieces and nephews.
