Memorial service for David Hastings will be 3:00p.m., Thursday, January 30, 2025, at Claremore First Methodist Church. Friends may visit at the funeral home on Wednesday, January 29, from 5pm-7pm, with family there to receive visitors. David passed away on Tuesday, January 21, 2025. He was 59. 

David Allen Hastings, born on November 21, 1965, in Claremore, Oklahoma, to Jim Hastings and Emma Marie (Sappington) Hastings. Educated at both Claremore and Owasso schools, David was not just a talented professional; he was also a man of deep convictions. He was a Christian, whose faith guided him throughout his life. He embodied warmth and compassion, qualities that made him a cherished friend to many.

David's early years were marked by a passion for horse racing. During his high school days and beyond, he worked as a horse jockey and honed his skills in training racehorses. His expertise was sought after, making him a trusted adviser within the equestrian circles. His professional journey also included a successful engineering career, where he lent his talents to renowned companies such as Pratt Whitney, Honeywell, John Zink, Nordam, and Reading Trucking. David's dedication to his profession was matched only by his devotion to his family and friends.

In his leisure time, David found solace in the great outdoors. Whether hunting, fishing, or engaging with horses, he felt most at home outside. His involvement with the Rogers County Mounted Patrol allowed him to combine his love for nature with a sense of community service, fostering connections with fellow outdoor enthusiasts.

David is survived by his loving wife, Cheryl Hastings; his son, Tyler Allen Hastings; and his daughter, Nichole Kaylene Ward, along with her husband, Bedford. He also leaves behind his cherished grandson, Rhett Allen Michael Hastings, and his brothers, Howard Hastings and Steven Hastings and wife Cindy, nephew Cody Hastings, great nieces, Mariah and Paisley. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jim Hastings and Emma Marie (Sappington) Hastings.

David will be remembered for his gentle nature, unwavering kindness, and the profound impact he had on everyone fortunate enough to know him. His legacy of love and friendship will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of those he leaves behind.
