David Perry Jacobs

Graveside service for David Perry Jacobs will be 2 p.m., Fri., March 19, at the Chelsea Cemetery with Rev. Scott Barger officiating. Military honors will be conducted by the U.S. Marine Corps. Burial will follow under the direction of Chelsea Funeral Home & Crematory. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Thurs. 1-6 p.m., and family will greet friends 5-6 p.m.

David died Tues., March 16, 2010, at the Oklahoma City VA Medical Center at the age of 61.

The son of Walter and Alma Loretta (Bell) Jacobs was born March 30, 1948, in Chelsea. David was a member of the Chelsea High School class of 1967, and played football and baseball. He joined the US Marine Corps serving in Vietnam and earned a Purple Heart. David enjoyed fishing and playing pool; and loved the OU Sooners.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Louise Peper.

Survivors include his daughter, Sherri Barger and husband, Scott of Alluwe; son, David Jacobs II and wife, Auburn of Claremore; grandchildren: Tate and Paige Barger, and Gavin and Josiah Jacobs; brother, Bill Jacobs of Pryor; and sister, Joyce Schulze of Adair.
