David Charles Ketts

February 7, 1929 — November 4, 2013

Funeral service for David Charles Ketts will be 2 p.m., Thursday, November 7, at Eden Mennonite Church. Burial will follow at Eden Mennonite Cemetery under the direction of the Inola Funeral Home & Crematory. Visitation will be held at the church 11 a.m.-2:30 p.m. on Thursday.

David was born on February 7, 1929, to Edward Ketts and Gladys Eugene (Fisher) Ketts in Billings, Oklahoma. He passed away on November 4, 2013, just two days before the love of his life, Lela, passed away.

David went to Burbank High School, Burbank, Oklahoma, and graduated from Inola High School, Inola, Oklahoma, in 1946, having moved there from Ralston, Oklahoma with his parents in 1945.
David joined the Air Force in September 1946 and served two enlistments, traveling to numerous bases in the United States and Japan and discharged in February 1953.

David worked for his father and other local jobs until joining the Frank W. Murphy Co. of Tulsa, Oklahoma in 1964. He retired from that company in 1991, retiring to his farm east of Inola with his wife, Lela. They have attended faithfully the Eden Mennonite Church since being married there on May 8, 1976. He had a very good life with his wife, neighbors, and church. David enjoyed traveling to different parts of the United States with his wife, seeing a lot of the country before old age shortened our trips.

David also belonged to the American Legion Post #0141 and VFW Post #2976.

Family members are his wife, Lela, deceased; brother, Ben E. Ketts of August, Kansas; sister-in-law, Orleta Ketts, deceased; and his parents, William E. Ketts and Gladys E. Ketts, both deceased.
