Funeral service for Debbie Meeker will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 11, 2012 at the Inola United Methodist Church. Pastor Max Adams will officiate. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery under the direction of the Inola Funeral Home & Crematory. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Wed. 1-8 p.m., and family will greet friends 6-8 p.m.
Deborah Ann Meeker passed away Monday, October 8, 2012 at her home in Inola surrounded by family at the age of 62.
The daughter of Robert and Delores Heist Anderson was born May 17, 1950 in York, Pennsylvania. She attended Wrightsville Schools in York, PA graduating in 1968. After graduation she continued her education at York College. She studied nursing at the York Hospital School of Nursing graduating in 1972. A short time later she found herself headed to Oklahoma to visit her brother. Her plan was to try out the Tulsa area for a while knowing that if she decided not to stay, she would move to California to work with nursing school friends. However, a friend of hers introduced her to Don Meeker. They were married April 21, 1979 at the Inola United Methodist Church. In 1978 she took a job with Hillcrest Hospital in Tulsa. She retired in 2002 due to illness. In her spare time she was very active in the church, and with her children's activities.
She is preceded in death by her father, Robert Anderson and sister, Wendy Anderson.
Survivors include her husband, Donald Meeker of Inola, daughter, Beth Froese and husband Robert of Inola, son, Matthew Meeker and wife Deleea of Salt Lake City, Utah; mother, Delores Anderson of York, Pennsylvania; brother, Robert Anderson and wife Brenda of Sand Springs, OK; sister, Cheryl Anderson of York Pennsylvania, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and her personal home health aid and good friend Cindy Plank.
