Deena K. Murphy

Funeral service for Deena K. Murphy will be 2 p.m., Tues., March 12, at the Musgrove-Merriott-Smith Chapel with Pastor David Erwin officiating. Burial will follow at Ward's Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Mon. 1-8 p.m.

Deena passed away Wed., March 6, 2013, at St. Francis Hospital at the age of 56.

The daughter of Joe Bob and Eva Mae (Alexander) Smith was born Oct. 8, 1956, in Hobbs, NM. Deena lived in California before moving to Claremore. On Sept. 26, 1986, she married Douglas Ray Murphy. Deena worked as a truck driver and restaurant manager. She was a member of the American Legion and the Purple Heart Association. Deena enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and making crafts.

She is preceded in death by her father, Joe Bob Smith; and her mother, Eva Mae Biggers.

Deena is survived by her husband, Douglas R. Murphy of the home; children: April Kathleen Helean of Claremore, and Gary Douglas Martin of Ft. Sill; siblings: James Victor Smith of Liberty, TX, Phyllis Barnum of Phoenix, AZ, Joanna Fay Scott of Liberty, TX, and Debby Kay Cooper of Claremore; 12 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.
