Delaphine Marie Busby

Funeral service for Delaphine Marie Busby will be 10 a.m., Thursday, Aug. 30, at Eastern Hills Baptist Church with Revs. Weldon Foster and Phil Tallman officiating. Burial will follow at Owalla Cemetery under the direction of Musgrove-Merriott-Smith Funeral Service & Crematory. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Wed. 1-8 p.m., and family will greet friends 6-8 m.

Delaphine went to be with the Lord on Mon., Aug. 27, 2012, at Wood Manor Nursing Home at the age of 86.

The daughter of Monty Theodore and Bertha Neoma (Whitener) Horner was born Nov. 30, 1925, in Claremore. She attended Owalla Elementary School. On Aug. 4, 1941, Delaphine married Grover Si Busby. She was a homemaker, and attended Sequoyah Baptist Church. She was active in her church; and taught Bible and Sunday schools. Delaphine enjoyed gardening, raising flowers, and spending time with her family.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Grover in 1998; and her parents.

Delaphine is survived by her children: John W. Busby and wife, Pat of Claremore, Ronald D. Busby and wife, Linda of Claremore, G. Lynn Busby and wife, Sandie of Teralton, and Connie J. Barnes and husband, Michael of Claremore; 8 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and brother, Jack R. Horner of Claremore.
