Services for Dent Lanas Vaught will be 10:00am, Friday, March 31, 2017 at Inola Funeral Home Chapel, burial will follow at Highland Cemetery. Dent passed away on Monday, March 27, 2017 at Inola Heath Care. He was 82.
Born March 29, 1934 in Tiawah, Oklahoma to Lanas and Preshia (Easterling) Vaught, Dent attended schools in both Tiawah and Inola. Following his graduation he continued his education at college for a time. Later he enlisted with the U.S. Army and proudly served his country. On June 12, 1952 he married Roberta Lou Adams and to this union 2 children were born. Dent opened a full service station in Inola and ran the business until 1972. He drove a truck for about 3 years and later opened another full service station, Vaught-Speed-Away, retiring in the mid 90's.
When younger, Dent loved playing baseball and basketball. later in life he was on a bowling team. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and golfing. After his retirement, Dent could be found solving the worlds problems at the tire store with his buddies. Always needing something to do, Dent worked part time for an auto auction, delivering cars or what ever they needed. He loved being around people and always enjoyed time with his family.
Those family members that survive include his children, Ricky Vaught and wife Clara of Inola and Denita Hancock and husband Charlee of Owasso; his grandchildren Ryan Vaught and wife Yolanda, Patrick Vaught and wife Heather, Andrea Harner and husband Mike, Lyndsay Vaught, Shaya Hancock, Tyler Hancock and wife Andrea, Bradleigh Riggs and Halylee Hancock; great grandchildren Brissa, Hadley, Cohen, Hunter, Holly, Madox, Connor, Ellie and Collahan; his brothers Don Vaught and wife Marilyn of Owasso and Dale Vaught and wife Barbara of Tulsa. Dent was preceded in death by his parents and granddaughter Lexie Walters.
