Dolores Edith Rogers

Funeral service for Dolores Edith Rogers will be 11 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 5, at Calvary Baptist Church with Pastor Lynn Hill officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery under the direction of Inola Funeral Home & Crematory. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Wed. 1-8 p.m.

Dolores passed away Fri., Jan. 30, 2015, at Inola Health Care Center at the age of 78.

The daughter of Francis William McIntire, Sr. and Miriam (Orr) McIntire was born Jan. 21, 1937, in Morton, PA. Dolores grew up in Aldan, PA, graduating from Lansdown-Aldan High School in 1954. While in high school, Dolores was a member of the varsity basketball and field hockey teams. She was also selected to play on the Delaware County Field Hockey Team. After high school Dolores went to work for Bell Telephone Company for several years. On Sept. 22, 1956, she married Harry Rogers. In July of 1971 Harry's job brought them to Inola. Dolores worked their family worm farm and later worked in management for several grocery stores in the area. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church; and enjoyed camping and fishing with her husband. She also enjoyed watching all sports activities, especially Jeff Gordon , a Nascar driver. She played the piano at her church and loved to embroider and do plastic canvas.

Dolores was preceded in death by her son, Mark Harry Rogers in 1986; and her parents.

She is survived by her husband, Harry of the home; daughter, Vicki May Snelson of Branson, MO; siblings: Francis William "Bill" McIntire, Jr. and wife, Beverly of the Pocono Mountains, PA; Marylou Blank and husband, Skip of Toms River, NJ, and David McIntire and wife, Jean of Havertown, PA; grandchildren: Jimmy Stallard, Nick Snelson, Alexis Snelson, Matthew Rogers, Aaron Rogers, Brandon Rogers, and Casey Tucker; and 12 great-grandchildren.
