Don Carson Kirkendall

Services will be held at MMS Payne Funeral Home in Claremore, Oklahoma, on Monday, October 7, at 10 o’clock.

Don Carson Kirkendall of Claremore, Oklahoma, passed peacefully from this life on October 1, 2024, surrounded by his family as he went to meet his Lord and Savior. Don was born on December 15, 1949, in Silsbee, Texas. He lived a full and incredible life marked by hard work, love for family, and a passion for classic cars.

Don spent much of his career working for the Southern Pacific Railroad. He married Carla Feagins, with whom he had two children, and though they later divorced, his family remained central to his life. After retiring, Don found joy in his shop, where he pursued his love for rebuilding classic Mustangs and spending time with friends and family.

Don is survived by his son, Charles Kirkendall, and his wife, Dr. Lennon Kirkendall; his daughter, Erica Kirkendall, and her husband, Jeff Pierson; and his beloved grandson, Charles Henry Pierson. He is also survived by his loving friend, Cynthia Hardman, as well as his brothers, Roy Kirkendall, David Kirkendall, and Dale Kirkendall. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank Kirkendall and Ophelia Irene McClelland; his sisters, Susan Kirkendall, Linda Kirkendall, and Sandra Kirkendall; and his brothers, Thomas Kirkendall and Johnny Kirkendall.

Don will be remembered for his kind heart, his love of family, and his talent for restoring classic cars. He leaves behind a legacy of love, friendship, and cherished memories.
