A Rosary for Dona Marie Leininger will be 10:00a.m., Saturday, August 23, 2014 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Sutton, Nebraska. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00a.m., following the Rosary. Father Holoubek will officiate the services. Burial will be held at Sutton Catholic Cemetery. Dona passed away on Sunday, August 17, 2014 at the age of 85.
Dona Marie Leininger was born May 26, 1929 in Strang, Nebraska to David and Alma (Zimmerman) Robare. She married Gene Leininger in Sutton, Nebraska on September 9, 1947, and the couple was blessed with 8 children. Dona was a kind and caring lady who enjoyed spending time with her family. With her giving nature, she volunteered every chance she could. She loved to garden, work puzzles, cheer for her favorite teams, and attend family activities.
This wife, mother, grandmother and friend will be missed by all who knew her. Those family members that survive include her husband Gene; her children Janet Harden of Lincoln Nebraska, Jeanette Anderson and husband Wendell of Pryor, Oklahoma, Theresa O’Neill and husband Mick of Omaha, Nebraska, Jerome Leininger and wife Cherrie of Alpine Meadows, California, Joseph Leininger and wife Gwen of Tahoe City, California, Mary Leininger and Kathy Culshaw of Roswell, New Mexico, John Leininger and wife Kim of Shenandoah, Iowa and James Leininger and wife Becky of Aurora, Nebraska; 19 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; her sisters Doris Weber of Pennsylvania and Lois Owings of South Carolina. Dona was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Kenneth, Dean and Gordon Robare, and her grandson Daniel Leininger.
