Donald Jerry Chasteen

Funeral service for Donald Jerry Chasteen will be 2 p.m., Thurs., Feb. 23, at River of Life Assembly of God. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery under the direction of the Inola Funeral Home & Crematory. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Wed. 1-8 p.m., and family will greet friends 6-8 p.m.

Donald died Mon., Feb. 20, 2012, surrounded by family at the age of 70.

The son of Hestle Ezekiel "Jack" and Zelma Leo (Carter) Chasteen was born Jan. 3, 1942, in Inola. He graduated from Inola High School in 1960. While he was growing up he helped his parents farm. On Dec. 1, 1961, Donald married Carolyn Sue Willis at the Assembly of God in Inola. Donald was self-employed in construction most of his life, and retired from Volunteers of America in 1999. He helped build many homes in the Inola area. Donald enjoyed spending time with his wife, children, and family. He was very proud of his family. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping.

Donald is preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Merlin and Lester.

He is survived by his wife, Sue of the home; children: Diane Amos and husband, Dallas of Inola, Donnie Chasteen of Inola, and Preston Chasteen and wife, Araceli of Claremore; brothers: Homer, Lonnie, Daniel, and Otto all of Inola, Buford of Claremore, and Roy of Mannford; grandchildren: Tony Deckard and wife, Jen, Ronny Deckard, Sherri Dawn Combs and husband, Dustin, Jessica Chasteen, D.J. Chasteen, Sami Sue Wise and husband, Micah, Samtha Chavez, Levi Chasteen, and Ashley Amos of Kansas City, KS; great-grandchildren: Janelle, Brennon, Sebastian, Wyatt, Gage, Cali, and Cooper; and foster children: Scott and Tracy.
