Donald Ray Hutchinson was born January 2, 1938 in Wagoner, Oklahoma to Floyd and Glassie Hutchinson. Ray had 9 siblings, Lucille, Marion, Bob, Joe, Scott, Gene, Delores, Kay and Edgar. He attended Prairie View and Downing Schools. He later earned his GED.
Due to severe drought in Texas, ranchers shipped train cars of cattle to the Dunkin Ranch, in Inola, Oklahoma. Ray's cousins, Mildred and Elmer Hutchinson leased the ranch. Ray was 15 years old, when along with his brothers, Joe and Gene, moved to Inola to work cattle on the ranch. After a while, Ray met the love of his life, Ladonna McKinney. He asked her parents if he could drive her home after church. Ray enlisted in the Army in 1956, serving in Germany. Before leaving, Ray married LaDonna on February 16th, 1957. Upon his return, they began their life together. In 1962, they built a home in Inola. It was here they raised three sons, Randy, Aaron and Robbie.
Ray worked as a maintenance electrician for National Tank/CE Natco and Word Industries. Ray was an avid coonhunter.He spent many nights out with his dogs hunting or looking for them. He was always a cowboy at heart. He enjoyed playing dominoes with friends at Inola Senior Citizens. Another passion of Ray's was a love of gardening. Every year a bountiful harvest was enjoyed by family and friends. Ray was a dedicated Christian. He loved the Lord and attending church, where he served as a deacon for many years.
Ray is survived by his loving wife, LaDonna. By his sons and their wives, Randy and Pam Hutchinson, Aaron and Lisa Hutchinson, and Rob and Patty Hutchinson. By his grandchildren, Jeremy, Portia, Phillip, and Drew. Great-grandchildren, Macy, Kingston, Cora, Liam, Penny and Maizy. He is also survived by his sisters, Delores and Kay and brother, Edgar.
Ray was preceeded in death, by his parents, and siblings, Lucille, Marion, Bob, Joe, Scott, and Gene. Also his grandchildren Bebi and Wade.
