Memorial service for Donald Leon Kitchen will be 2 p.m., Mon., Jan. 5, at MMS-Payne Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Nancy Lawson officiating.
Don passed away at Heartsworth Senior Living, Vinita, at the age of 80.
The son of Theron Ray and Delores Onita (Ewing) Kitchen was born June 13, 1934, in Hydro. The family moved to Pryor where Don attended school. Don retired from American Airlines in 2000, where he was a machinist. He also worked at Facet Quantec, Boeings, Beech Craft, Cessna, and Colemans.
Don enjoyed staying active. In his earlier years he enjoyed drag boat racing, drag racing, and scuba diving. In his later years he enjoyed showing horses, trail riding, riding motorcycles and four wheelers, and flying his airplane. He was a member of several horse membership affiliations and A.A. Transport Workers Union Local 514.
Don was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Wayne and Dee Kitchen.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia Sue (Perry) Kitchen of the home; children: Teresa, Ron, and Steve; step-children: James and Daniel; brother, Frank; sister, Pauline; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
