Donna Jane Brewer

A celebration of the life of Donna Brewer will be held on Wednesday, June 10th at 10 a.m. at MMS-Payne Funeral Home in Claremore. Her wonderful life began on October 4, 1937 to parents Otho and Maye Wittenmyer in Baxter Springs, Kansas. Donna married Fred Brewer on April 23, 1955 and were blessed with a 58 year marriage, raising a family in Broken Bow and then making their home in Claremore for over 40 years. Donna retired in 1995 after a long career as director of the Gingerbread House Daycare Center, leaving an impression on the hearts of many generations of Claremore children. After retirement, Donna spent many years volunteering for Meals on Wheels, Hillcrest Hospital Auxiliary, and enjoyed the time spent with her St. Andrews United Methodist Church family.

Donna left this earth surrounded by loved ones on June 5, 2020 at the age of 82. She is survived by three children, Kim Long and her husband Larry of Claremore, Tammy Tomlinson of Claremore, and Kevin Brewer of Catoosa. Donna was known as “Nana” to surviving grandchildren, Kyle Cooper and wife Brandy, Kami Walton, Tiffany Brewer, and great grandchildren, Shea Walton, Olivia Cooper, Addisen Strawn, and David Strawn III.

She is preceded in death by husband Fred Brewer and grandson Kory Walton.
