Donnie Ray Spitler

Funeral service for Donnie Ray Spitler will be 10 a.m., Sat., March 29, at the Inola Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Kirk DeWeese officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery under the direction of the Inola Funeral Home & Crematory. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Fri. 1-8 p.m., and family will greet friends 5-7 p.m.

Donnie passed away Wed., March 26, 2014, at his home at the age of 72.

The son of Henry Sanford and Ella Christine (Allen) Spitler was born June 5, 1941, in Sapulpa, and grew up in Pontiac, MI. Donnie returned to Oklahoma in 1978. He worked at American Airlines where he worked as an aircraft mechanic. He retired after 18 years of service. On Jan. 20, 2001, he married Gloria Jean Robertson in Carthage, MO, and they made their home in Owasso. Donnie enjoyed woodworking, gardening, and fishing.

Donnie was preceded in death by his first wife, Juanita; and father, Henry.

He is survived by his wife, Gloria J. Spitler of the home; children: Danial A. Spitler of Broken Arrow, and Christina M. DeLay and husband, Roy of Broken Arrow; step-daughter, Kim Horn and husband, Kevin of Miami; mother, Ella C. Spitler of Bixby; granddaughter, Nicole R. Johnson and husband, Jeremiah of Inola; step-granddaughter, Caiti Dismore and husband, Clint of Claremore; great-grandchildren, Anna and Ava; and brother, Jerry L. Spitler and wife, Freda of Inola.
