Doris Geneva Grigg

Funeral service for Doris Grigg will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 9, 2022 at MMS-Payne Funeral Home Chapel; burial will follow at Highland Cemetery in Inola. Doris passed away on Saturday, March 5, 2022. She was 83.

Born January 23rd, 1939 to James Richard and Bessie Mae (Thompson) Hasten in Mineola, Texas, Doris attended school in Mineola. She began helping her family at an early age, taking care of her mother and brother when they were sick. She also helped raise her nephews.

Cooking was another area that Doris excelled in and her family benefited from many wonderful meals. She had a servant's heart; you never came to her house that you weren't offered something to drink and eat. When she fixed a meal for her family, she was the last to eat, always making sure everyone was taken care of before herself.

Doris will be missed by all. Those family members that survive include her husband, James Sanford Grigg of Pawhuska, Oklahoma; her children Roy McDaniel and wife Diane of Lake Elisnore, California; Sandra Robertson and husband Clinton of Kingston, Oklahoma; Diana Johnson of Ardmore, Oklahoma; Jeannie Babbitt and husband Terry of Sherman, Texas; Susie Corbitt of Kingston, Oklahoma; Linda Siebert and husband Ron of Butler Missouri; Alesha Beech and husband Ron of Inola, Oklahoma; her 18 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren. Doris was preceded in death by her parents; siblings Benny, James, Aubrey, Jimmie Lou, and Clara Mae; and many nieces and nephews and step-son Roger Grigg.
