Funeral service for Doris Irene Rabbit will be 2 p.m., Friday, September 2, 2016, at MMS-Payne Funeral Home Chapel with Pastors Wayne Phillips and Johnny Walden officiating. Burial will follow at Washington Cemetery under the direction of MMS-Payne Funeral Home & Cremation Service. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Thursday 1-8 p.m.

Doris passed away Monday, August 29, 2016, at her home at the age of 65.

The daughter of Patrick Virgil Pool and Mildred Elizabeth (Proctor) Pool was born August 8, 1951, in Pryor. Doris graduated from Chelsea High School. She worked at Eastern State Hospital in Vinita for several years, and later worked in home health as a caretaker.

On December 12, 1976, Doris married Eddie Rabbit on her mother's farm. They made their home in Foyil. Doris enjoyed crocheting and gardening. She loved being outdoors watching the birds, especially the hummingbirds, and the squirrels. She attended Sequoyah Full Gospel and later attended Miracles of Love in Foyil. Even though she had many health problems, she always had a smile on her face and a good outlook on life.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Eddie; her parents; brother, Glenn Pool; aunt, Irene Proctor; cousins, Ted and Jack Proctor.

Survivors include her cousins: Rebecca Richey of Colorado Springs, CO, Barbara Speir and husband, Ron of Springfield, MO, and Nora Jane Glazebrook of Chelsea; step-children: Roy Rabbit of Stillwater, Lena (Rabbit) Fourkiller of Bunch, and Eddie Rabbit, Jr. of Stilwell; the Myrick children: Ezekiel, Michelle, April, Charity, and Melinda; numerous extended family members, and many friends that loved her dearly.
