Dorothy Marie McFarland

Funeral service for Dorothy Marie McFarland will be 2 p.m., Wed., Feb. 23, at the Musgrove-Merriott-Smith Chapel with Minister Mike Schroeder officiating. Burial will follow at Oakhaven Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Tues. 1-8 p.m.
Dorothy died Fri., Feb. 18, 2011, at Wood Manor at the age of 82.
The daughter of William Harley and Bell (Sisco) Shrum was born Feb. 26, 1928, in Claremore. She attended school in Claremore. On March 11, 1945, she married Lorrell Clyde "L.C." McFarland. They made their home in Claremore. Dorothy was a member of Blue Starr Church of Christ. She worked in the church food bank for many years, and enjoyed being an active member of her church. She also enjoyed volunteering with charities.
Dorothy is preceded in death by her husband, L.C. in 1996; and 8 brothers and sisters.
She is survived by her son, Tony McFarland of Morrison, CO; daughter, Vickie McFarland of Oklahoma City; sister, Pauline George of Claremore; and grandchildren: Allison and Trent McFarland both of Seal Beach, CA.
