Funeral service for longtime Chelsea resident Dorothy May Stutsman will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday , November 18, 2010 at the Assembly of God Church. Rev. Sonny Johnston will officiate.
Mrs. Stutsman passed away Monday, November 15, 2010 in Tulsa at the age of 85.
The daughter of Thomas and Lorene Perrigo Kitterman was born February 12, 1925 in Copan. She attended Copan schools graduating with the class of 1943. She married Harold Bud Stutsman June 2, 1942 in Sedan, Kansas. In the late 1960's she moved to Chelsea. There she became an active member of the Chelsea community. She began her community involvement in the early 1950's serving as a Brownie Leader. She later participated with the library, FFA, and 4H among other things. All her hard work was rewarded when she was elected citizen of the year in 1995. This award didn't stop her from assisting her community. She continued until her health stopped her from doing so.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Lorena, Husband Bud Stutsman, 1 brother, 2 sisters, 3 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
Survivors include her sons, Johnny Stutsman of Tulsa, Larry Stutsman of Chelsea, Billy Stutsman and wife Kavrie of Bartlesville, daughters, Marcella Blackburn and husband Fred of Cushing and Donna Flemming of Warren, Ohio; 17 grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, 5 step great-grandchildren, 11 great-great-grandchildren, 1 brother and 5 sisters.
