Douglas Wayne Arnold

December 21, 1970 — July 4, 2018

Funeral service for Claremore resident, Douglas Wayne Arnold, will be 11:00 am on Saturday, July 7, 2018, at MMS-Payne Funeral Home Chapel in Claremore.
Douglas passed away at his home on Wednesday, July 4, 2018. He was 47 years old.
He was born to Bruce Wayne Arnold and Kathy Ellen (Messersmith) Eaves in Elmira, New York on December 21st, 1970. He graduated from Watkins Glen High School in 1989. He soon moved to Oklahoma and continued his education by earning a private pilot's license at Spartan Aeronautics in Tulsa. During this time, he began working in the warehouse at Sears. His career next saw him working a stint at building cabinets. Eventually, he met a friend who got him started in the auto body repair business. He later started his own business, D.A. Auto Recovery, which he owned for 20 plus years.
Through friends, Doug was introduced to Victoria Busby. They married on August 15, 2005, at his parents' home in New York. The newlyweds made their home in Claremore. In 2012, they purchased a Wings To Go franchise in Owasso. Since Doug's nickname was Douggie Fresh, this business was run under the name of Douggie Fresh Enterprises.
When time allowed, Doug had many passions that he pursued. He loved and participated in all aspects of dirt track racing, even owning his own race car. He enjoyed watching the Dallas Cowboys, going to the casino, riding four-wheelers, and playing golf. Closer to home, he loved to joke with his family, and also grill for them. Pork chops were his favorite. He cherished the time spent with family the most.
Doug was preceded in death by his parents, Bruce Arnold and Kathy (Messersmith) Eaves, and step-father, George Eaves.
Those left to mourn his passing are his wife Victoria, her parents, Ron and Linda Busby, his daughters Lindsey Busby of Claremore and Kelsie Sigman of Tulsa, his sister Melissa and husband Adam Brown of New York, nieces Charity Herskovitz and Sarah Brown, and nephews Caleb Brown and David Brown. He also leaves behind his adopted family, Lisa and Russell Green, and their children Justin and Jessica Green, and last but not least, his cherished dachshund, Baxter Wayne.
