Funeral service for Douglas R. Renne will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 26, 2017 at the Tiawah Community Baptist Church. Pastor Ernie Gill will officiate. Burial will follow at Dick Duck Cemetery in Catoosa.

Douglas Renne, known to many as Bruce, passed away on May 22, 2017, at the age of 77.

The son of Walter and Irene Hutchinson Renne was born November 26, 1939 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. There he would spend the majority of his life. It was also in Tulsa that he met Lillian Ruth. They married June 6, 1959. It was during this time that Douglas followed in his father's footsteps as a brick mason. He worked for many years for the bricklayers union local #147070. However, masonry work wasn't his only calling. Douglas attended seminary school, and became a Baptist pastor, helping many area churches.

After the passing of his first wife, Douglas met Amanda Miller. They married January 1, 2009. They made their home in Inola, where he was currently living.

In his spare time, Douglas had one primary pastime. He loved writing books pertaining to Bible doctrine and the love of God in Christ. He would then get them to the numerous people who followed his work.

He is preceded in death by his parents, first wife Lillian Ruth; daughter, Tina Louise Renne, and brother Paul Renne.

Survivors include his wife Amanda of the home; daughter, Kelly Mills and husband Terry of Sand Springs; grandchild, Jaymie Mills, and sisters Nina Estes of San Jose, California, and Carolyn Brewer of Madill.
