Dwight Eugene Allison was born April 6, 1944 in Chelsea, Oklahoma to Louis Earl and Edith Burnell (Dawes) Allison. He was reared and educated in his birth community, graduating with the class of 1962. During and after high school, Dwight worked on the Parker Ranch where he showed cattle. While in Ft. Worth, Texas at a cattle show Dwight met his future bride. Dianna Sue Roach accepted a invitation to lunch and the rest is history. The couple married on June 11, 1965 in a Ft. Worth ceremony and soon made their home in Chelsea. Dwight later began working for the Rural Water District in Adair as a maintenance engineer, retiring in 2010.
For Dwight hobbies were many. He enjoyed leather working, making belts and billfolds, genealogy and gardening. His garden produced wonderful tomatoes and watermelons to name a few. Dwight was most happy spending time with his family, especially those grandchildren, who called him papa. He made sure that each of their events were attended and he was undoubtedly their biggest fan there. He took them on hikes in the woods and they loved the sights he showed them. Dwight also played softball and later coached his girls softball teams.
A kind and caring husband, father, grandfather and friend, Dwight will be missed by all who knew him. Those family members that survive include his wife of over 50 years, Dianna of their home in Chelsea; his daughters Debbie Stover and husband Wes and Denise Draeger and husband Quintin all of Chelsea; his grandchildren Scotty Jones and wife Michelle also of Chelsea, Darren Jones and wife Kaylin of Claremore; Logan Draeger, Allison Draeger, Carson Draeger and Jaclyn Draeger all of Chelsea; his great grandchildren Cassie Jones, Zayden Stanley, Zaylin Stanley and Zeryn Berry all of Chelsea; his brothers William "Bill" E. Allison and wife Doris of California and John Allison and wife Andrea of Texas and many nieces, nephews and extended family members. Dwight was preceded in death by his parents, nephews Johnathan David Allison and Randy Aurerbach.
