Born November 26, 1918 in Thomas, Oklahoma to Claude F. and Edith J. (Christian) Littleton, E. L. was raised in his birth community. On July 2, 1938 he married Opal Dolphine Dunsmore, and they made their home in Thomas. Soon after they married, he enlisted in the Army and proudly served his country in World War II.
E. L. was quite good at everything he set his mind to. In 1949 the couple moved to Chelsea to run a ranch. He also had a TV shop, and could also fix mowers. E. L. worked for the Chelsea Public Schools in the maintenance department, taking care of the buildings and cleaning the schools. During this time he also drove a school bus, and was the first at school every day, getting everything ready for the day. He knew many children through his 24 years of employment.
When time allowed, E. L. loved fishing, and spent every moment he could at the local lakes. Each year he enjoyed taking his family to Grand Lake, where they would camp and fish for a couple of weeks. He also read many books, and especially loved the Bible; he read it thru many times. Family was most important to E. L., and he cherished the time he spent with them. He also planted a garden each year, and took care of his property up until just a few months ago. He lived each day to its fullest and made the best of each opportunity.
Those family members that survive include his sons Kenneth Littleton and wife Linda, and Ron Littleton and wife Linda, all of Chelsea; child of the heart Kevin Hessman and wife Carolyn of Owasso; his siblings Fred Littleton, Foy Littleton and wife Della, and Claudean Livinggood; his grandchildren Mitzie Cromis and husband Joey, Brenda Warner and husband Homer, Amy Littleton, and Scott Littleton and wife Julia; his great- grandchildren Jimmy, Kenny, Kendra, Travis, Ashley, Katlyn, and Keegan.
E. L. was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Opal, granddaughter Larenda Rea Littleton; his sister Mona Calkins, and his brother Bill Littleton.
