Service for Earl "Leo" Bump will be 10:00a.m., Thursday, August 22, 2024, at Owasso Baptist Church, burial will be at 2:30p.m. at Highland Cemetery, Inola, Oklahoma. Friends may visit at the funeral home on Wednesday, August 21, from 1pm-7pm, with family receiving visitors from 5pm-7pm. Leo passed away at his home on Sunday, August 18, 2024. He was 84.

 Leo was born February 23, 1940, in Inola, Oklahoma to Myrl Leo and Stella Viola (Butler) Bump. His journey began at Inola High School, from which he graduated with the class of 1958. Following high school, he served his country within the Army Reserves. On June 26, 1959, Leo married the love of his life and high school sweetheart, Mary Alice Dunlap. 65 years they have been together. They created a warm and loving home. Leo worked for a time at Brown Duncan, before starting a career as an accountant with White Freightliner. His journey began in Tulsa before relocating many times across the United States, this job allowed Leo and his family to experience life in, Lakewood, Colorado, Millard, Nebraska, O'Fallon, Missouri, and Olathe, Kansas, before finally settling back in Oklahoma in the Tiawah community. For the last 20 years they have made Owasso their home.

 Leo’s life was characterized by his unwavering dedication to his family. He took great care to ensure the happiness and well-being of his loved ones, finding immense joy in spending time with them. His grandchildren were a particular source of pride for him; the affectionate name “Papa” rang sweetly in his ears, embodying the love and connection he felt towards them. Gatherings with family and friends were cherished moments, reflecting Leo's generous spirit and love for camaraderie.

In addition to his family life, Leo shared a love of travel with Mary. Together, they explored beautiful destinations, ranging from the enchanting landscapes of France, Italy, Scotland to the serene beaches of the Cayman Islands, Antiqua, Cancun, Los Cabos, Hawaii, Alaska, Mountain Meadows, Utah and many remarkable locations across the United States. These adventures together enriched their lives and created lasting memories.

 Leo is survived by his beloved wife, Mary Bump, as well as his sons Bryan Bump and wife Carrie, Brent Bump and wife Leigh Ann, and daughter-in-law Cindy Bump. He also held a special place in his heart for his daughter, whom he wished he had, Kim Bump. Leo’s legacy continues through his sisters, Priscilla Medlock and Shirley Bocock and husband Lucky, and his grandchildren, including Alyssa Mader and husband Paul, Baryn Bump and wife Bailey, Brant Bump and wife Britany, Cayli Aldridge and husband Trent, Garrett Bump and wife Sydney, Emily Vanderpool and husband Jonah, Bryce Bump and fiancée Kirstin Hayes, and Braden Bump. He delighted in his great-grandchildren, Asher Mader, Everett Mader, Millie Mader, Brynlee Bump, Greyson Aldridge, Charlie Aldridge, Liam Vanderpool, Cooper Bump, and one more on the way, Jonas Vanderpool. Additionally, Leo is survived by many nieces, nephews, and extended family members who will carry his memory in their hearts. He was preceded in death by his parents, Myrl and Stella Bump; his son, Bradd Bump; and siblings, Dale Bump, Charlotte Spurlock, and Richard Bump.
