Funeral service for Earl Lee-Roy McLain will be 1 p.m., Mon., May 12, at MMS-Payne Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Rick Burke officiating. Burial will follow at Washington Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Mon. 9 a.m.-noon.
Earl passed away Sun., May 4, 2014, at his home at the age of 59.
The son of Oscar Lee and Rosie Ola (Kelly) McLain was born Jan. 15, 1955, in Claremore at the Franklin Hospital. Earl grew up and attended school in Claremore. As a teenager Earl went to work as a bricklayer, and later served in the U.S. Army. After his discharge Earl went to work for a local sod farm , RSU and Claremore schools as a janitor, and Terra Nitrogen. Earl was fascinated with ninja fighting, and enjoyed watching Bruce Lee movies and sci-fi.
Earl was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his son, Earl Lee-Roy McLain George of Pryor; siblings: Virgil McLain of Claremore, and Ella Kelly of Chelsea; and grandchild, Nevaeh George.
