Graveside service for Edna Mae Ward will be 1:00p.m., Saturday, February 6, 2021 at Shiloh Cemetery in Jessieville, Arkansas. Edna went home to be with Jesus on Monday, February 1, 2021. She was 85.
Born October 29, 1935 in Jessieville, Arkansas to Tommy and Lela (Graves) Shaw, Edna attended schools there in Jessieville and later graduated with the class of 1953. She later married her high school sweetheart, Euel Dean Ward on May 24, 1957. The couple made Tulsa home due to Euel's work with the State of Oklahoma. After a few years in Oklahoma, they moved back to Arkansas and lived there until returning to Oklahoma and eventually settled in Inola.
Edna was a wonderful wife and mother, she loved taking care of her family and seeing to their needs. She was an exceptional cook and everyone was welcome to her home for a meal, didn't matter how many, Edna always seemed to have enough. Her flower gardens were beautiful, and she had many different colors of iris that she acquired over the years. She loved to read mysteries, watch her favorite basketball team the Lakers on tv, and go to cattle shows. Edna's love of God was always first in her life and she shared her time and talents with her church, usually helping with the youth group.
Those family members that survive include her children Greg Ward and wife Marlene of Jessieville, and Sheila Bond and husband David of Inola; her grandchildren Allison Willhour and husband Buck and Heather Ward; great grandchildren Will, Cutter, Briley, Brailyn, and Hailey; her brothers Chester Shaw of Arkansas and Clem Shaw of Florida. Edna was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Euel and her siblings LouAnna Hilton, Lydia Merriott, Ralph Shaw and Wanda Collinsworth.
