Memorial service for Edward Allen Peterson will be 10 a.m., Sat., April 28, at First Baptist Church, Chelsea, with Rev. Gerald Biswell officiating. Interment will be 2 p.m., Fri., April 27, at Ft. Gibson National Cemetery. Military honors performed by the U.S. Army. Arrangements are under the direction of Musgrove-Merriott-Smith Funeral Service & Crematory.
Ed died Sat., April 21, 2012, at the Claremore Veterans Center at the age of 79.
The son of Gust and Evelyn (Aquiree) Peterson was born Jan. 30, 1933, in Martinez, CA. He graduated high school in California and continued his education at Chico State. Ed joined the U.S. Army. He played with the Army Band at Ft. Knox, and as a chaplain's assistant in Oakland. Ed was a safety engineer and helped build underground transportation. He was the CEO and founder of World Wide Auto Scooter Lift, and held the first patton on it. In 1991, he and his wife, Gail, moved to Chelsea. He started his business for stow-away and hood lifts, "Tow Dolly". Ed was a gifted musician, playing several instruments. He also enjoyed inventing, and played organ at the First Baptist Church.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Shirley Temple; Sgt. Anthony D. Peterson, grandson of whom he was very proud of.
He is survived by his wife, Gail Peterson of the home; son, Garth Peterson and wife, Terra of Owasso; daughters: Hillary Peterson of Post Falls, ID, and Mindy Sager and husband, Charlie of Chelsea; grandchildren: Robert Peterson, Brittany Peterson, Jillian Peterson, Sullivan Sager, Savannah Sager, Ally Paradise, and William Paradise; and great-grandchildren: Dakota Peterson and Carter Thomas.
