Funeral service for Elizabeth Maud Gregoli will be 2 p.m., Wed., June 26, at Inola United Methodist Church with Pastor Michael Shepherd officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery under the direction of the Inola Funeral Home & Crematory. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Tues. 1-8 p.m., and family will greet friends 6-8 p.m.
Elizabeth passed away Sat., June 22, 2013, at her home at the age of 75.
The daughter of Oscar and Mattie Lou Mahaffey Dunagan was born September 16, 1937 in Lawrenceville, Georgia. There she was raised on her family's dairy farm. She later attended Lawrenceville High School, where she was a member of the graduating class of 1955. Wanting to continue her education she enrolled in the Crawford W. Long Memorial Hospital school of Nursing. She graduated in 1958 as a registered nurse. Her first job took her to Savannah. There she met Greg Gregoli. They were married October 3, 1959 in Lawrenceville. They made their home in Savannah, but moved to New Jersey when Greg was discharged from the Air Force. In 1975 she and her family left New Jersey and moved to Tulsa. She then decided to leave the hospital work behind and focus on helping others. Her long list of volunteer work includes the American Red Cross for 22 years, Meals on Wheels, the Indian Health Care Recourses Center in which she was volunteer of the year in 2001, and numerous others. She also served as the president of the Registered Nurse Community Volunteers from 2002 till 2004. Other hobbies included reading, especially about WWII combat nurses, and gardening since she was a Rogers County Master Gardner.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Mattie Lou Mahaffey Dunagan; brothers, Edward and James Dunagan, and sisters, Margaret Murphy, and Mary Lou Edwards.
She is survived by her husband, Greg of the home; sons: Dr. Paul A. Gregoli of Tishomingo, and Mark Kevin Gregoli and wife, Molly of Inola; grandchildren; Luke Anthony Gregoli, and Jonathan Dewayne Gregoli sisters: Evelyn Thompson of Georgia, and Barbara Franklin and husband, Rastus of Georgia.
