Ella Ann (Moore) Hughes, the daughter of James Ed and Pansy Muriel (Medlock) Moore, was born September 8, 1942, in Inola, OK. Ella Ann went home to be with her Lord on Monday, July 13th, 2020, at the age of 77.
She grew up in rural Inola, OK, in a small farmhouse with 11 other brothers and sisters. She was the third eldest and helped raise the younger ones after the early passing of their mother, Pansy. She attended school in Inola, OK and graduated in 1960. She married “Dick” Hughes December 16, 1979. Ella Ann was a homemaker most of her life, working part time in various occupations, with her most recent employment at the Inola Health Care Center for several years. Throughout her childhood, she attended First Baptist Church, Inola, and later in life, First Assembly of God, Inola.
Ella Ann loved to go to garage sales and made the annual 100 Mile Yard Sale with friends and family for the past several years. She also liked to travel with her family. She enjoyed collecting antique dishes and pottery and had a knack for decorating her home with the many treasures she found. She was always helping others when she could. She cared for her sister, Mary, for many years, and generously gave when she could in helping friends and family in need. She always made sure to tell her family, “love you”, when she talked to them. She spoiled her dogs, Lulu and then Rose, taking them with her wherever she could. In recent years, she sought to be closer to God through the scriptures. Her favorite chapter in the Bible was Psalm 91, which she read every evening before going to bed.
She is survived by her children: daughter, Pam and husband Keith Dailey of Poteau, OK, son, Tommy Moore of Muskogee, OK, son, David Moore of Gore, OK, daughter, Tina Medina-Moore of Owasso, OK, and daughter, Stacy and husband Aaron Wortham of Sand Springs, OK; five brothers, Jimmy and wife, Lucille Moore, John Ed Moore, Jackie and wife, Terry Moore, Danny Ray Moore, and Michael and wife, Donna Moore; four sisters, Charlotte and late husband Bruce Hendrickson, Sharon and husband Ray Chambers, Mary Gail Moore, Diana and husband Casey Doris, and sister-in-law, Sally Moore; ten grandchildren, and numerous other great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
