Graveside service for Erma Lea Littleton will be 10 a.m., Saturday, August 27, 2011, at Chelsea Cemetery with Rev. David Sanders officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Chelsea Funeral Home & Crematory. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Fri. 1-8 p.m., and family will greet friends 5-7 p.m. An Eastern Star Service will be held at 7 p.m.
Erma died Wed., Aug. 24, 2011, at Claremore Nursing Home at the age of 79.
The daughter of Charles Lee and Gladys Mildred (Faulkner) Reavis was born Oct. 6, 1931, in Chelsea. Erma attended school at McIntosh, Longfellow, Oak Grove, and Chelsea High School. She graduated from Chelsea High School in 1949. On Feb. 1, 1950, she and Orvil Fred Littleton were married in Chelsea by Rev. Harvey Hardin. Erma worked for Southwestern Bell for 13 years. She retired as Chief Operator when the company went to dial phones. Erma then went to work with the Bank of Chelsea where she retired as Head Teller. Erma was a 50 year member of the Order of Eastern Stars #92; and a member of the Rogers County Diabetic Association. Erma was active in the Chelsea Senior Citizen's Center and served as President for 4 years. She was also a member of Memorial United Methodist Church, and worked as a clerk in local elections. Erma enjoyed crocheting, cross stitch, reading, and gardening.
Erma is preceded in death by her parents; and her brother, Everett R. Reavis.
She is survived by her husband, Fred of the home; sister, Hazel Batton of Miami; sister-in-law, Dorothy Reavis of Savannah, MO; and nieces and nephew: Linda June Batton of Miami, Patsy Smith of Savannah, MO, and Douglas Reavis of Savannah, MO.
