Funeral service for Ether Loueffie Breedlove will be 11 a.m., Wed., July 16 at Chelsea Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Scott Barger officiating. Burial will follow at Chelsea Cemetery.
Ether passed away Sun., July 13, 2014, at Mercy Hospital, Ft. Smith, AR, at the age of 95.
The daughter of Roy Jackson and Lois (Goss) Peavyhouse was born April 13, 1919, in Stigler, where she grew up and attended school. Ether married Isaac Edgar Stamps on May 17, 1938, and they made their home in Kenema. They raised their children there and Ether worked in several area nursing homes including the Spiro Nursing Home. After Edgar passed away suddenly Ether moved back to Stigler to be near her family. She later married Elmer Leroy Breedlove on March 7, 1974. They made their home in Quinton. After Elmer passed way Ether moved to Chelsea to be near her daughter, Marjorie, where she remained for many years. For the past thirty years she has lived in Arkansas with her daughter, Glenda. Ether was lovingly known as "Nanny Fanny" to her grandchildren. She could be found making toys out of anything she could find, on the floor making paper dolls, or having fun teaching them to cook. She loved quilting and taught many of her grandchildren to sew. She was also talented at hand embroidery, sewing, and cooking.
Ether was preceded in death by her husbands, Edgar and Elmer; parents; and siblings: Homer Peavyhouse, Ruth Stamps, Sue, and Margaret Apple.
She is survived by her children: Jerrel Gulley of Van Buren, AR, Marjorie Green and husband, Donald of Chelsea, Glenda Hubbell of Hackett, AR, Jack Stamps and wife, Avril of Albuquerque, NM, and Joe Stamps and wife, Lena of Roland; brother, Murrel Peavyhouse of Santa Clara, CA; sisters: Eunice Cannon of Whitehouse, TN, and Geneva Byrd of California; 29 grandchildren, and numerous great and great-great-grandchildren.
