Graveside service for Everett Leroy Gideon will be 11 a.m., Tues., Jan. 3, at Lone Elm Cemetery. Burial with military honors will follow under the direction of Musgrove-Merriott-Smith Funeral Service & Crematory. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Tues., Dec. 27, from 1 until 8 p.m.
Everett died Sun., Dec. 25, 2011, at the Oklahoma City VA Medical Center at the age of 77.
The son of Clifton Leroy and Zella Reaney (Kelley) Gideon was born May 12, 1934, in Catoosa. Everett attended school in Claremore, and went on to serve in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. After his discharge Everett worked as an electrician. Everett was married to Veronica Griego, and later to Norma "Loretta" Nelms. He enjoyed working on cars, watching football, and his dog, Yo-Yo.
Everett is preceded in death by his daughter, Alesa Gideon; son, Lonnie "Waterbee" Jones; parents; and grandson, Jack Jones.
He is survived by his children: Zelda Morse of Claremore, Frankie Rogers and husband, John of Locust Grove, Lester Jones of Claremore, and Clifford Gideon of New Mexico; brother, Earl Gideon and wife, Dale of Inola; grandchildren: Kaunstance Morse of Claremore, Khrysstance Moore and husband, Robert of Claremore, and John Glenn Rogers of Siloam Springs, AR; and great-grandson, Ryder Moore.
