Ewin A. Burns

Graveside service for Ewin Albert Burns will be 2 p.m., Wed., at the Oakhaven Memorial Gardens Chapel. Burial will follow under the direction of Musgrove-Merriott-Smith Funeral Service & Crematory. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Tues. 1-6 p.m.

Ewin died Sat., Nov. 20, 2010, at Claremore Regional Hospital at the age of 91.

The son of Charles H. and Emma (Doss) Burns was born Feb. 13, 1919, at Sleeper, MO. On Oct. 23, 1938 he married Frances Margaret Duke. Ewin owned Burns Construction, retiring in 1989. He enjoyed working, farming, hunting, and fishing.

Ewin was preceded in death by his wife, Frances in 1989; mother, Emma Burns; father, Charles Burns; son, Ty Burns; grandson, Matthew Simpson; and 6 brothers.

He is survived by his daughters: Gail Haire of Claremore, Dee Simpson and husband, Harry of Claremore, and Pam Ward and husband, Wade of Foyil; grandchildren: Shannon Cline and husband, Stan of Claremore, Billy Haire and wife, Dana of Springfield, MO, Jason Ward of Foyil, Jamie Looney and husband, Chell of Adair, James Bronc Ward of Foyil, Jenna Ward of Lawrence, KS, and Jared Ward of Foyil; and many great-grandchildren.
