Florence Wolfington

Graveside service for Florence Lorene Wolfington will be 10 a.m., Wed., July 30, at Woodlawn Cemetery with Pastor Charles Ragland officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of MMS-Payne Funeral Home & Cremation Service. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Tues. 1-8 p.m.

Florence passed away Sat., July 26, 2014, at Hillcrest Hospital South, Tulsa, at the age of 88.

The daughter of Jim and Bertha (Wallis) Casey was born March 14, 1926, in Claremore. She attended Sequoyah schools, and married Tommy R. Wolfington in Nov. of 1945. While he served in the US Navy they lived in California, and in 1965 they moved back to Claremore. Florence enjoyed quilting, gardening, traveling, going to garage sales, and volunteering at the Historical Society.

Florence is preceded in death by her husband, Tommy; her parents; and brother, Calvin Casey.

She is survived by daughter, Connie Porterfield and husband, Jery of Claremore; grandchildren: Tom Porterfield and wife, Susie of Harrison, AR, and Tony Porterfield and wife, Carrie of Lancaster, PA; great-grandchildren: Zachary and John Austin Porterfield of Harrison, AR, and Elsie Diana of Lancaster, PA; brother, Kenneth Casey; sisters: Opal Payne and Mary Bridwell and husband, Ralph; and several nieces and nephews.
