Fondella passed away Thurs., April 2, 2015, at her home at the age of 89.

The daughter of Virgil and Cordie Purkey was born May 21, 1925, in Verdigris. Fondella spent her childhood in Verdigris where she went to school until 10th grade and then graduated from Claremore High School with the class of 1944. She married George Warren Pritchard, Jr. on Nov. 12, 1948. Fondella was a homemaker and George worked for American Airlines. They made their home in Claremore and had three sons, George, III (Jeep), Gary and Bob. In addition to being a homemaker, Fondella was active in the Red and White Club, bowling leagues, bridge clubs, and various other civic clubs and organizations. Fondella loved all her friends at the Claremore Senior Citizens Center. A great day consisted of Phase 10 in the morning, lunch, and bridge in the afternoon with all her friends at the center. She also played in various other bridge clubs in her community.

Fondella was raised in the Assembly of God church. First in Verdigris under Rev. Nancy Johnson and then under Rev. Haymaker and Rev. Reddout at First Assembly of God in Claremore. In her later years she wasn't able to attend church regularly but that didn't stop her from watching one of her favorite television ministers, Rev. John Hagee. Also, she was very proud of her three nephews that are in the ministry, Rev. Scott Purkey, Rev. Mark Purkey, and Rev. Mike Purkey.

Fondella, who also went by "Della" among her family and friends is preceded in death by her husband, George, Jr.; parents, Virgil and Cordie Purkey; and brother, Bill Purkey.

She is survived by her sons: George III (Jeep) of Claremore, Gary Pritchard of Claremore, and Bob Pritchard and wife, Marilyn of Verdigris; brother, Don Purkey and wife, Marj of Claremore; sister-in-law, Wanda Purkey of Olathe, KS, brother and sister-in-law Bart and Kathryn Broadhead of Bonita Springs, Florida and sister-in-law Shirley Houx of Tulsa; grandchildren: George Warren "Dub" Pritchard, IV and wife, Catie, Mandi Bruner and husband, Charles "Chip", Ryan Pritchard and wife, Brooke, Aaron Pritchard, and Madison Pritchard; and great-grandchildren: Alissa Pritchard, Carlie Pritchard, Eva Pritchard, Emma Pritchard, Dylan Pritchard, Sally Jane Pritchard, George Pritchard, V, Max Bruner, Emory Pritchard, and Isaiah Pritchard and many other nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was loved dearly by family and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Claremore Senior Citizens Center, 116 N. Missouri Ave., Claremore, OK 74017.
